Sprucing Up
Your Garage Floor
There are so many options for updating your garage floors, that a spruce up may seem daunting. What is the best choice? What are my color options? Am I going to be able to stay within my budget? Asking about the best garage flooring is similar to asking what is the best car to buy. There are so many choices, and the right one for you might not be the right one for everyone. Costs, appearance, and maintenance are all factors to consider when you decide to make an update.
Epoxy Floor Coatings
Epoxy floors are a resin coating combined with a hardener that when applied to the surface of concrete creates a hard almost plastic like surface that is durable and long lasting. It is widely used in warehouses, restaurants, and professional garages because of its high shine and easy maintenance. These floors are available in a variety of colors and design options and they are stain, water, chemical, and chip resistant. They are extreemely easy to clean and maintain and will last for decades. If your garage takes a beating, epoxy floor coatings are the perfect choice for you.

Interlocking garage floor tiles
If epoxy floor coating seems too difficult to install you might want to consider installing interlocking floor tiles yourself. If moisture is a concern, interlocking tiles allow for air drying underneath the surface to keep mold and mildew at bay. It offers perfect drainage for when you pull your car into the garage after driving in the rain or snow, and it creates a buffer from the cold concrete. In addition it can offer some anti- fatigue properties if you spend time working in your garage. Interlocking floor tiles are also a super affordable option, particularly if you install on your own.

Polished concrete
Polished concrete is one of the best options for giving your garage floors a facelift. Although concrete can perform under high pressure and stand up to the wear and tear, the concrete dust of an uncovered concrete surface can make them significantly less desirable. Polished concrete is a multistep process by which the floors are sanded with progressively finer grits until a desired level of shine is accomplished. A hardener or sealer is then added towards the end of this process to seal and coat the surface. Because there is no paint or coating though, this is a highly resilient option. Polishing your concrete is simply bringing out the best in your garage floors so there is nothing to chip away of stain.
